Documents that arrive in improper condition or alternatively envelopes lost in the mail are not the responsibility of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Physical delivery at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem:

Citizens who wish to submit the documents themselves, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem, and collect them authenticated with an apostille on the same day, are required to make an appointment in the appointment scheduling system.

You can pick up the verified documents from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the same day that you submitted the documents, without an appointment, between the hours of 15:30 and 16:30, at the address: 2 Yoel Zusman Street, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jerusalem.

With physical delivery at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, up to 5 documents can be delivered to the applicant, which will be processed and delivered back the same day.

Those who request to physically deliver more than 5 documents, the handling of the documents will be done within 21 days, from the date of delivery.

The Ministry

of Foreign Affairs verifies with an apostille original Israeli public documents, as detailed:

  1. The certificates of the Ministry of the Interior – original certificates issued as of 19/08/01 are signed with an electronic signature at the time of issue and are not required to be signed by an official by the Ministry of the Interior before arriving at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  2. Absence of criminal/traffic information – a certificate intended for abroad can be ordered from the police website. The certificate is sent from the police to the address designated abroad/to the foreign mission in Israel. (You must verify receipt of the certificate with the representation abroad after three weeks from the date of submitting the application), don’t forget to pay the apostille fee at the same time if necessary.
  3. Certificates issued by the IDF – an original signature of the public inquiries officer is required on military certificates.

On the following certificates it is necessary to obtain a signature from the relevant office before arriving at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

  1. Divorce certificate and judgment of the rabbinical courts – the back of the certificate requires the signature of authorized signatories from the management of the rabbinic courts, address: 22 Kanafi Nesherim St., Givat Shaul, Jerusalem.
  2. Marriage certificate – the signature of an authorized official is required according to the applicant’s religion:

Jews: signature of the Ministry of Religious Services, address: 7 Kanafi Nesherim St., Givat Shaul, Jerusalem.

Muslims: signature of the management of the Sharia Courts in Jerusalem, address: 37 Hillel St. Beit Agron building, floor 3, Jerusalem.

Christians: signature of the Ministry of the Interior’s branch for the Christian denominations, address: 15 Kanafi Nesherim St., Twin Building, Jerusalem.

Druze: Signature of the Druze Religious Court, address: 1 Shalom HaGalil St., Acre.

  1. Matriculation certificate – an original certificate or a true copy of the original, required to be signed by an authorized official from the examination department of the Ministry of Education before arriving at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to receive an apostille. Address of the Ministry of Education: 29 Shevti Israel St., Jerusalem.
  2. Academic certificates and school certificates – signature of the Ministry of Education Address: 22 Kanafi Nesherim St., Jerusalem.
  3. Certification certificate of doctors – an original certificate or a true copy of the original with the signature and stamp of the Ministry of Health and the authorized signatories of the district health office in the city of residence.
  4. Judgments and court decisions – for the verification of judgments and decisions from courts, a photocopied copy of the judgment, or the decision in its entirety, must be attached, with the seal of a trustee of the original. The document must be signed and stamped by the chief secretary or deputy chief secretary of the court where the decision or verdict was issued.
  5. Inheritance orders from the registrar for inheritance matters – an original document only with the signature of the authorized signatories on behalf of the registrar for inheritance matters in the area of residence where the order was signed.
  6. Inheritance orders from courts – original documents, or faithful to the original, certified by a chief secretary or registrar of a court and signed by the chief secretary of the court where the order was signed.
